SDM orders ban on use of mobile phones in schools Ramnagar sub division

Srinagar, Nov 10: Sub divisional magistrate Ramnagar has ordered ban on the use of mobile phones in schools it Ramnagar sub division.
"Whereas, during random inspection of schools, some students and even teachers have been found using their mobile phones in the class rooms during school timing," reads the circular of SDM Ramnagar, a copy of which lies with NVI.
"Whereas, some students have also been caught by the undersigned watching prohibited/ banned websites on their mobile phones in the class rooms," it reads.
"Whereas, it has also been reported by prominent people of this Sub Division that use of mobile phones in schools has led to distractions, Increased risk of cyberbullying and potential disruption of the school discipline, all of which have negative impact on academic achievement," it states further.
"Therefore, considering the need to maintain discipline and to ensure the safety and well-being of students, the teachers as well as students shall not use mobile phones in the school premises and for any emergency, official phone of head of institution/school can be used."
