The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2024 for the recruitment of 669 Sub-Inspector posts in the J&K Police, Home Department. This is a golden opportunity for eligible candidates seeking a career in law enforcement.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Domicile

Applicants must be domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid domicile certificate by the cut-off date.  

2. Age Limit (As of January 1, 2024)  

• Open Merit (OM): 18–28 years  

• In-Service Police Personnel: 18–30 years  

• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation applies based on service duration.  

3. Educational Qualification 

Candidates must meet the qualification criteria specified in Annexure-A of the official notification.  

Selection Process

The recruitment process will include:

1. Written Examination: Objective type with negative marking.  

2. Physical Standard Test (PST):

• Male: Height 5'6", Chest 32"-33.5".  

• Female: Height 5'2".  

(Relaxations for certain communities apply)

3. Physical Endurance Test (PET): 

• Male: 1600m race in 6.5 mins, 20 pushups.  

• Female: 1000m race in 6.5 mins, shot put (14.5 ft).  

Reservation Details

Category-wise reservations, including Horizontal Reservation for women (15%) and ex-servicemen, are applicable as per government rules.
