DSEK Announces Revised School Timings in Kashmir to Combat Heatwave
Srinagar: In response to numerous representations from parents and other stakeholders regarding the ongoing heatwave, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a change in school timings for the Kashmir Division.
“Given the current heatwave conditions and forecasts predicting their continuation, classwork in all Government and Recognized Private Schools up to the Higher Secondary level will now be conducted from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. This adjustment applies to both rural and urban areas within the Kashmir Division,” reads an order issued by DSEK.
Additionally, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff will be required to fulfill their duties from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
This arrangement will remain in effect until August 10, 2024, as the authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and assess the need for further adjustments. (Kashmir Life)
