CUET UG 2024 results by July 22; retest for nearly 1,000 students on July 19

Originally, CUET UG results were scheduled to be released on June 30, but the NTA delayed the results as it grappled with paper leak allegations involving NEET UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET.

After numerous exam postponements and cancellations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to conduct a CUET UG retest for approximately 1,000 candidates on July 19.

The NTA had on July 7 released the provisional answer key of CUET UG 2024, in which the Agency mentioned that it would conduct a retest for CUET UG candidates between July 15 and 19 if any grievance raised by students about the conduct of the exam was found to be correct.

A senior NTA official told The Indian Express that the CUET UG retest will be conducted in the online mode. Those taking the retest include roughly 250 candidates from the Oasis Public School in Hazaribagh, which is under the scanner for NEET UG leak. All candidates from this centre have been directed to take the retest on July 19.

For others, reasons include loss of time and distribution of question papers in incorrect language. Following the retest on July 19, the NTA will likely release the results by July 22.

The CUET UG exam was originally scheduled to be conducted between May 15 and 24. The NTA on May 14 postponed the May 15 exam in all Delhi centres citing logistical issues. The exam was then held on May 19.

While originally, CUET UG results were scheduled to be released on June 30, the NTA delayed the results as it grappled with paper leak allegations involving NEET UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET.

CUET UG is the single-window test for admission to a majority of undergraduate programs at 46 Central universities, including Delhi University, Allahabad University, and Banaras Hindu University. In a first, the entrance test this year was held in a hybrid format – online as well as pen-and-paper mode – over multiple shifts. (The Indian Express)
