No summer vacations from May 27: J&K Education dept clarifies
Srinagar: The School Education department of Jammu and Kashmir has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the commencement of summer vacations on May 27th, clarifying that no such directive has been issued by the Director of School Education, Jammu.
Furthermore, the department has issued an advisory and guidelines to prevent heat-related illnesses (HRI) among students. These guidelines emphasize measures such as avoiding assemblies in the afternoon, ensuring the availability of drinking water and water breaks, sensitizing students to cover their heads, and promptly reporting any cases related to HRI.
Previously, the School Education department of Jammu and Kashmir had adjusted school timings in the summer zone areas of the Jammu region. Under the new schedule, class work starts from 8 am to 12 Noon, effective from May 20th. (Rising Kashmir)
