This disturbance, characterized by its cold temperatures, is expected to make a significant impact on the Kashmir plains, bringing about a notable drop in temperatures.
What to Expect:
Temperature Plunge: On both Saturday and Sunday, the Kashmir plains are anticipated to experience maximum temperatures hovering around a chilly 2 or 3 degrees Celsius. Throughout this period, temperatures are likely to persist below or near the freezing point, contributing to an unmistakable wintry atmosphere.
Snowfall in the Forecast: Over the next 48 hours, light to moderate snowfall is on the horizon for the Kashmir plains. Rainfall may be minimal, with the focus primarily on the transformation of precipitation into a picturesque layer of snow.
Impact on Jammu Region: The influence of the Western Disturbance will extend to parts of the Jammu region as well. Anticipate cold temperatures, and certain areas in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, Rajouri, and Kathua districts (above 1300 meters in elevation) might witness a beautiful dusting of snow.
