Anantnag, Sep 25: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, in collaboration with the Joint Director of Youth Services & Sports Kashmir, has officially inaugurated the much-anticipated UT-Level Cricket Tournament for Boys in District Anantnag.
The inauguration ceremony took place at HSS Bhijbehra, graced by the presence of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer Anantnag and the esteemed Principal of HSS Bhijbehra.
On the tournament's opening day, cricket enthusiasts were treated to an action-packed schedule featuring four matches, each hosted at a different venue. These thrilling contests were still underway at the time of this report.
This UT-Level Cricket Tournament has adopted a league cum knockout format, ensuring that all participating players enjoy equitable opportunities to showcase their talent, rather than opting solely for a knockout tournament.
One of the standout moments of the day came courtesy of Faizan from Budgam, who achieved a remarkable milestone by claiming his maiden Hatrick of the tournament. Faizan's incredible bowling performance saw him secure five wickets while conceding only 10 runs during his three overs, making him the undeniable highlight of the day's matches.
