JKBOSE NMMS Scholarship 2023-24: Apply Online, Check Eligibility, Last Date

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the commencement of online applications for the "National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme" (NMMS) for the project year 2023-24. This scholarship scheme, in accordance with the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, aims to support bright students.

Here are the key details you need to know:

Application Eligibility:

• - Candidates who appeared for the NMMS Exam in the years 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019 are eligible to apply.

• - Students should be in class 9 and have qualified the NMMS Examination 2022.

• - Parental income from all sources should not exceed INR 3,50,000 per annum.

Application Process:

• - The application process is online, and candidates can apply on the National Scholarship Portal 2.0 (http://scholarships.gov.in).

• - The application window opens on October 1, 2023, and closes on November 30, 2023.

• - Detailed instructions and guidelines are available on the JKBOSE website [https://jkbose.nic.in].

Scholarship Details:

• - The selected students from class IX will receive a scholarship of INR 12,000 per annum.

• - This scholarship is valid for their continued education in classes X to XII in Government schools.

Important Note:

• - Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are not eligible for this scholarship.

Renewal for Previous Years:

• - Candidates who received the NMMS scholarship in 2021, 2020, and 2019 and are currently in class 10, 11, and 12 during the 2023-24 session can also submit their renewal applications on the National Scholarship Portal by November 30, 2023. No extensions will be provided this year.

Verification Process:

• - Online applications will undergo Level-1 Verification by the respective Government Schools by December 15, 2023.

• - Level-2 Verification will be conducted by the concerned Chief Education Officer at the District Level by December 30, 2023.
