South Kashmir boy selected for India U-19 volleyball team

Anantnag, July 09: A 17-year-old boy from South Kashmir's Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir has been selected for the Indian under-19 Volleyball team.
Shadab Shamim son Shamim Ah Ganie, a resident of Nipora-Mirbazar area of Qazigund belt in Anantnag is youngster from Anantnag who will represent India at the world Championship slated to be held in Arjentina (South America) from August 2-11.
Shadab belongs to a family which has sports background. His father Shamim Ah Ganie, was a senior player volleyball player from J&K.
Shamim while talking news agency—VOK said that he started playing volleyball at the early age and since then he has participated in different tournaments at state and national level.
“It was my dream to represent the country at international stage which has come true but now my aim is to perform well and in coming time get spot in Indian volleyball team,” he beamed and gave credit to Almighty Allah, parents, friends and coaches for his success.
Youth of J-K are very much talented but they should keep themselves away from bad activities and follow their passion in letter and spirit and one day they will succeed,” he said.
