LG Manoj Sinha Chairs J&K Higher Education Council Meeting
Srinagar, July 12: LG Manoj Sinha chaired the J&K Higher Education Council meeting today & the deliberations ranged from themes like multidisciplinary education, ecosystem for research and innovation, Indian philosophy & languages and project-based learning mode, combined with needs and challenges of society.
LG informed that Jammu University to launch innovative program 'Design Your Degree' which is one of the cornerstones of the NEP 2020. It will promote applicative learning, skill enhancement aligned with needs of 21st Century & provide unique opportunity to students to shape their curriculum.
He said that Journey of our Amrit Kaal will not be about only degree but also about skills & values & identifying new sectors of employment, learning in classrooms should contribute to changes & new solutions.
No classroom can afford to teach subjects that are irrelevant in today's context. Research should reflect reality of accelerated transformation. Increase interaction with leading academicians.
LG said that critical evaluation is must for future strategy. Critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, curiosity will build equitable & vibrant knowledge society. (Agencies)
