Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil holds meeting with PRIs regarding admission drive

Kargil, June 06: A village-level meeting with Councilors, BDCs and Sarpanches was held today at Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil for community mobilization regarding admission drive in the campus.

The meeting was attended by Councilor Sankoo, BDC's of Sankoo and Barsoo Blocks, and Sarpanches from various Constituencies of Sankoo Sub-division. 

The meeting started with welcome speech by Assistant Professor, Nasir-Ud-Din Khafi followed by a brief introduction by Assistant Professor, Dr Abid Hussain.

As the campus was started last year, it is being realized that enrollment can be increased through a special admission drive and mass mobilization in the catchment areas of Sankoo.

In this regard, PRIs can play a significant role to sensitize people at their doorsteps for taking admission in the college.

As the new admission process has been announced by the University of Ladakh, it was decided that PRIs would cooperate with college authorities for initiating admission drive at the grassroot level.

Councilor, BDCs and Sapanches assured to extend their cooperation for ensuring maximum admissions of local students in the campus. It was felt that maximum enrollment would be significant for the progress of the campus in future.

It was also decided that a mobilization program would also be started at village level in collaboration with PRI members. Prof. Saleem Ahmed, who is also Nodal Officer of the campus presented vote of thanks to all the participants for their cooperation.
