JKBOSE Corrects Class 12 Results: 165 Students Achieve Distinction After Initial Failure

At least 165 students, who had previously been declared as failing to qualify in all subjects of the 12th standard, have now been reclassified as distinction holders in the revised annual regular results.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) announced on Monday the amendment and revised notification for those students who had initially been declared as failed due to the negligence of either their parental school or the BOSE.

in a notification, the BOSE stated, “Following the results of the Higher Secondary Part Two examination, the results of at least 165 roll numbers have been amended, revised, and declared.”

Notably, a group of 12th standard students held a demonstration in the press enclave of Srinagar on Saturday to protest against the discrepancies in the results announced by the BOSE.

The protesting students claimed that many students from Government Higher Secondary School Kakapora were marked as absent for the chemistry practical paper and subsequently designated as ‘reappear’.

“We performed well in the theory paper, and due to the practical discrepancy, the entire subject is being shown as ‘reappear’, which has caused significant mental distress,” they expressed.

On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education announced the annual regular results for the 12th standard, with an overall pass percentage of 65 percent.

Meanwhile, senior officials of the BOSE clarified that the parental schools of these students had not updated their award rolls.

“We received the award rolls from their respective schools late, which led to this issue. There was no fault on the part of the BOSE,” the official explained. (KNO)
