Handwara Police organises Awareness Programmes on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
On the eve of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which is being observed every year on 26th June, Handwara Police organised awareness rallies and seminars at various places to generate awareness about drug abuse and its impact on society.
The significance of the day was to create awareness about the health and social perils of drug addiction and abuse and to emphasise the role of every member of society in fighting the menace of drug abuse. Participants were urged to promote healthy living and shun substance abuse. The programmes were held in collaboration with BHSS Handwara, GHSS Vilgam, GHSS Unisoo, GHSS Zachaldara, Boys Model HSS Qalamanad, GHS Kachloo and Panchayat Ghar Magam. Students, teachers and non-teaching staff of schools, sarpanches, panchs, medical fraternity Handwara and respectables of areas participated.
All participants were overwhelmingly enthusiastic in their resolve to promote healthy and responsible lifestyles.(APINEWS)
