Govt enhances GMN seats for Ramzan College of Nursing Pampore


'College to have 80 GNM seats now'


Srinagar, May 17: The J&K government has accorded sanction to the grant of provisional permission in favour of Ramzan College of Nursing Gallandar Pampore in Pulwama district for the enhancement of the seats in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

As per the order issued by Secretary Health, a copy of which lies with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the present intake of General Nursing in the college is 40 but it has been now enhanced to 80 as 20 seats were enhanced and 20 seats were merged from MMPHW totaling to 80 seats in GNM.

The provisional no objection certificate, as per order, shall be granted on the conditions that the approval is subject to the fulfillment of provisions laid down in the J&K Paramedical Council, Act, 2014, the Institute will charge no capitation fee, Permission shall be subject to any policy on the subject, which the Government may sanction in future for regulation of these Institutes, eligibility of candidates for admission to the courses shall be made on merit basis as per the provisions laid down by the Government from time to time through J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination and he J&K Paramedical Council shall conduct inspection of the institute, periodically, to monitor and assess the infrastructure in relation to the number of trainees.

“An amount of Rs.5000/-per trainee per session be charged by the Institute on account of providing hospital facility and the amount so received be utilized for Hospital Development fund of the Hospital to which the institute is attached, for any lapse on the part of student/students resulting loss/damage to equipment/chemical etc. The Institute shall be responsible for it. An undertaking to this effect be executed by the management of the institution with the Medical Superintendent of he Hospital and the J&K Paramedical Council shall conduct examination of the trainees on the same pattern as in case of trainees of AMT/ANMT Schools in the UT of J&K,” it reads further—(KNO)
