EC Mubarak Shah chairs review meeting at GDC Drass

Kargil, May 19, 2023: Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil, Mubarak Shah today chaired a review meeting in the office chamber of the Principal Govt. Degree College Drass.

The meeting was aimed to review various developmental activities going on at GDC Drass.

During the meeting, the EC Mubarak Shah inquired about the various ongoing works and new works proposed under UT Ladakh.

The meeting was attended by the Principal GDC Drass, Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi and college’s Development and Advisory Committee Members, Haidar Ali, Assistant Professor Sociology, Mustafa Ali. Director Physical Education and Sports, Jegmet Sangyas, Assistant Professor Political Science and Stanzin Stamdin, Assistant Professor English.

Later, the Principal GDC Drass gave a detailed information regarding various developmental activities going on in the college like construction of girl’s hostel, boy’s hostel, academic block, administrative block, lecture hall under SDP and staff quarter.

This year the college has proposed Principal’s quarter-cum-guest house and landscaping of 1st phase under SDP and requested the EC to take favourable action for its inclusion in new scheme 2023-24.

The EC gave a patient hearing and assured the college that all the possible action will be taken by LAHDC Kargil and his office to approve works under new schemes and will direct the concerned agencies/R&B 2nd to speed up the ongoing work on war footing basis so that the construction will be completed in the current financial year and the college could be shifted at the earliest to the new campus site. 

The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by the college Principal.
