Guidelines for UG courses
Candidates can check the guidelines for UG Courses below:
All students enrolled in the four-year UG degrees should be encouraged to engage in a sufficient number of IKS courses to ensure that their total credits earned there represent at least 5 per cent of the total credits required. The first four semesters of the UG degree are the best times for the students to enrol in these courses, however any time is acceptable.
A foundational course in Indian Knowledge System, intended to provide an overview of all IKS streams pertinent to the UG curriculum, should be taken by all students.
In order for students to successfully complete the necessary number of courses and credits in IKS, all UG-teaching institutions ought to provide a wide range of elective IKS courses from which they can select.
The students may be given the option of choosing an internship or an apprenticeship in any of the subjects or fields covered by IKS.
In the 7th or 8th semesters of the UG degree, students may be encouraged to select an appropriate topic linked to IKS for their project work whenever possible.
A credit course on Indian medical systems is available to UG medical students in their first year of study. This course will give them a "basic understanding of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy." Students have the option to enrol in a two-semester credit course in any Indian medical system's theory and application during their second year.
With the consent of the relevant authorities of the higher educational institutions or the relevant professional councils, these provisions may be implemented into the curriculum framework for the relevant programmes.
