SED all set to start Social, Emotional, Ethical Learning project for Govt Schools
Srinagar, Apr 17: School Education Department is all set to initiate a Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning (SEEL) project for the students of government schools.
According to the news agency Directorate of School Education Jammu has said that it has decided to launch the project in collaboration with Piramal foundation.
“Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning (SEE Learning), is a K-12 education program developed for international use,” it reads.
Joint Director at DSEJ said, “Guided by a shared vision for an education of heart and mind, the program conveys a universal, non-sectarian, and science-based approach to bringing the ethical development of the whole child into education.”
“SEEL provides educators with a comprehensive framework for the cultivation of social, emotional and ethical competencies; age-specific curricula consisting of easy to implement lessons; and a support structure for educator preparation, facilitator certification, and on-going professional development,” reads the communique.
The joint director said that it has shortlisted 70 trainees in this regard.
“During second phase these master trainers will further train teachers dealing with elementary classes for imparting Social Emotional and Ethical Learning to students via virtual mode,” it reads.
The joint director said, “In view of all of the above, you are directed to intimate HOls of the schools to depute the trainees for one day launch cum orientation on the project SEEL at SRML Model HSS, Jammu on April-17.”CNI
