Gets nominated for Semester Exchange at the University of California, USA.
Zaib Sofi, a resident of Handwara J&K, a student of law at Jindal Global Law School, who’s currently pursuing LLB, has brought laurels for J&K after passing a rigorous selection process by getting nominated for the student exchange program at the most prestigious university in United States of America.
Zaib will be heading to University of California, Davis School of Law, later this week, and will be studying his next semester there in the US.
While speaking to the media, Zaib said that he had always dreamt of going to the US and getting to study law from the top professors in the world. He aspires to be a lawmaker in J&K.
He believes that studying the law in the US would broaden his knowledge of the law and his horizon of looking into things. He also added that studying there would give him a holistic understanding of how a developed country and state look like.
After returning from the US, he could efficiently inculcate the same laws and techniques of running a state back in J&K when he gets a chance to become a law maker in Jammu & Kashmir.
Zaib said that he’s extremely thankful to his parents, professors, teachers and well-wishers who helped him all the way to get through the journey and make it to the University of California. He said that he’s passionate about helping people of J&K, especially the youth.
He also said that he would be happy to help the students of J&K and can be reached at szaib@ucdavis.edu
