Court grants 10 days remand of accused GDC Pattan Principal, Professor

Srinagar,15-Feb: The Special court on Wednesday granted 10 days custody of Govt degree college Pattan principal and professor to Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a corruption Case.

As per official reports to CNS, yesterday one professor identified as, Tariq Ashai, who is the principal of GDC Pattan, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rupees 60000 at SP College in Srinagar.

They said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB north Kashmir and investigation was taken up.

During investigation, another Assistant professor (History) of the Degree College Pattan was also arrested in this case and is identified as Professor Imtiyaz Gul Khan, a resident of Wanigam Pattan.

Sources said that both the professors were today Produced before Special Judge Anti Corruption Baramulla and were send on Police Remand for further investigation.(CNS)
