MeT Issued Fresh Weather Advisory, Two More Western Disturbances Reaching The Valley



According to the new weather calendar of the Meteorological Department, two westerly winds are affecting Jammu and Kashmir


Dry and partly cloudy weather till January 18, snow and rain forecast from January 22 to 24


Srinagar, Jan 17: The Meteorological Department, while issuing a new weather calendar, said that the fresh westerly winds are affecting Jammu and Kashmir from January 22, due to which the weather conditions will change.

According to CNI, due to the dry weather conditions in Kashmir Valley and Jammu, where the cold wave is increasing day by day, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather calendar and has predicted more rains and snowfall till January 22 and 24.

Mukhtar Ahmad, the director of Meteorological Department, said that the fresh western winds will last from January 22 to 24, during which there is a possibility of rains and snowfall. He said that the weather will remain dry from January 18 to 22.

He further said that during this period, there will be chances of light to moderate snowfall in the plains and moderate to heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of the Kashmir valley. He also said that people should avoid going to the slopes and avalanche-prone areas during this period.

It should be noted that the weather conditions have improved after the snowfall in the past few days and due to good sunshine throughout the day. The cold wave has increased. He said that the weather is likely to remain mainly dry and partly cloudy till January 18.

While from January 19 to 21, the weather will be cloudy with light rain and snowfall. He added that from 22 to 24 Snowfall and rains are likely till January. (CNI) reports
