Kargil Boy Tashi Shines at All India University Games
Wins Gold for Guru Nanak Dev University, LAHDC Kargil, CEC Congratulated
Tashi Tundup S/o Tsering Angchok from Khachey Fokar for winning Gold in Poomsae Individual event at All India Inter University Taekwondo Men’s and Women’s Championships held at Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar Punjab from 3 -12 January 2023.
Tashi Tundup was representing Guru Nanak Dev University Punjab in the All India University in which more than 150 universities Participated.
Feroz Khan CEC, LAHDC Kargil while congratulating Tashi, said that the Players from Kargil have great potential and Taekwondo is the game which has groomed the talent of Players like Tashi Tundup and he thanked Guru Nanak Dev University Punjab for providing further studies along with Opportunities to Players to excel in their respective fields.
He also congratulated the entire team of Ladakh Taekwondo Association and wished them the best for all future events.
President of Ladakh Taekwondo Association Gulzar Hussain Munshi congratulated Tashi Tundup and Guru Nanak Dev University for giving a chance to Tashi Tundup so that he can represent India.
General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali Shotopa congratulating Tashi Tundup and his family, requested the University of Ladakh to start Sports Discipline at the university so that Ladakh University can also compete in such events and maximum students from Ladakh can opt Sports as a Profession.
Shotopa thanked Feroz Ahmad Khan and LAHDC Kargil for encouraging the young talents of Ladakh and assured that Ladakh Taekwondo Association will strive hard to bring out the best Players out of the raw talents.
Tashi Tundup while talking to media said that it was a good start of 2023 and thanked the Sports Director of Guru Nanak Dev University Jimmy Sir, Ravi Kadyan sir (Team Head Coach) and Amir Khan sir (Assistant Coach) for giving this opportunity, and support.
He said that he is grateful to his Coach Atul Pangotra, his Family, and Ladakh Taekwondo Association for their constant support and believing in him. (Kargil Today) reports
