Responding to Member of Parliament (MP) Karti P Chidambaram’s letter urging one-time exemption from 75% eligibility criteria for JEE Main and Advanced 2023, Education Minister said that the matter has been forwarded to the concerned department.
In December first week, Lok Sabha MP Karti P Chidambaram urged the Indian Government to relax the eligibility criteria for JEE 2023. He wrote a letter to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and mentioned that due to technical glitches and other errors in both JEE Main, Advanced exams last year, several aspirants faced discrepancies in their response sheet and errors in result.
He mentioned in letter, "I would like to bring to your attention concerns raised by students who appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - Mains and Advanced in 2022.
These aspirants studied hard to secure admission into India's leading engineering institutes, however, several hurdles which were completely outside their control, denied them a fair opportunity at the exam."
MP took to Twitter to share Education Minister’s response. He tweeted, “The Education Minister has responded to my letter requesting immediate relaxation in the eligibility criteria for #JEE2023. I hope the Govt will look into the requests and concerns of aggrieved students.”
