MeT says Chillai Kalan will arrive on dry note, feeble western disturbance on December End
Srinagar, 19 Dec : The meteorological department (MET) on Monday forecasted scattered light rain and Snowfall over plains of Jammu and Kashmir and at scattered places of Ladakh.
An official of the MeT department told Kashmir Scroll that light to moderate snowfall at scattered places of Ladakh during 25th of evening to 27th of forenoon.
He added that there is no forecast of major snowfall in J&K and Ladakh till ending December.
He added that snowfall and freezing temperatures may led to temporary disruption of surface transportation on Sonmarg-Zojila, Penzila during 26-27 December.
“Cloudy with possibility of light rain/snowfall at scattered places in plains of J&K & scattered places of Ladakh (Light to moderate over higher reaches)likely (60% chance) during 25(evening) -27(forenoon). NO forecast of Major snowfall in J&K and Ladakh till ending Dec”. a meteorological department officials said.
