The government of India has banned 348 mobile apps. The Ministry of Electronics and IT has banned these apps. These apps were allegedly collecting users' data and personal information and sending them outside the country in an unauthorized manner.

Actually, the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology has given this information to the Parliament. Let us inform you that even before this 54 new Chinese apps were banned.

The government has so far blocked 348 apps for allegedly collecting users' data and transmitting it unauthorizedly to servers outside the country, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar informed Parliament on Wednesday. Is. 

Chandrashekhar said this in response to a question in the Lok Sabha. "The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had identified 348 mobile applications that were collecting user information and transmitting it in an unauthorized manner to servers located outside the country for profiling," he said.

These apps have been blocked by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology at the request of the government. This action has been taken under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. 

The minister said that such data transmission violates the sovereignty and integrity of the country, and the defense, and the security of the state. These mobile apps have been developed by various countries. Chinese apps are also included in the apps to be blocked.

Apps have been banned earlier also
Let us tell you that from time to time the government has been banning apps that violate security. In the year 2020, the banning of apps that steal users' data and violate security, including Chinese apps, was started. 

The ban on Chinese apps in India started in June 2020. On 29 June 2020, the Government of India banned 59 apps while doing the first digital strike. After that, 47, 118, and 43 apps were banned respectively. This year also the government has banned more than 300 apps.
