Education Department Organised Webinar on National Mathematics Day
Poonch, Dec 22 : To commemorate the birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, rhe department of School Education Poonch organized a webinar on the Topic ``Life and Contributions of S Ramanujan”. Eminent Mathematicians from various Universities, NCERT and DSEJ participated in the Webinar.
Bishamber Dass, Chief Education Officer Poonch inaugurated the Webinar and asked the teachers to inform the students about the contributions of S Ramanujan. .
Prominent Mathematicians Dr. Kameshwar Rao, from Tamilnadi, Dr. Harneet Gandhi from Delhi University, Ashu Mangotra (Research Officer) from SCERT Jammu, Dr Jagdish Lal from Directorate of School Education Jammu and Dr. Harish Sharma from Poonch were the prominent Speakers on the occasion who spread light on the life and contributions of S Ramanujan.
Dr. Kameshwar Rao, said, “Srinivasa Ramanujan, the mathematical genius, came to be recognized posthumously for his incredible contribution to the world of Mathematics. Leaving this world at the young age of 32, Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887-1920) contributed a great deal to mathematics that only a few could overtake in their lifetime”.
