Routine school work to continue till snow falls in plains: DSEK
‘Announcement of winter vacations subservient to weather conditions’
Srinagar, Nov 13: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Sunday said it will continue the routine school work till there is a snowfall in the plains of Kashmir region.
Speaking at the sidelines of an event, Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tassaduq Hussain Mir said, “If the weather conditions remain conducive we will continue teaching the students in schools.”
When asked about the announcement of winter vacations in Kashmir, Mir said that the government is “undecided yet” on the issue and “had no plans to announce any vacations for now.”
“The winter vacations in the winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir are subservient to the weather situation.
“If the weather plummets or there is any snowfall, then we will take a decision accordingly,” the director said.
He further said that the government was trying hard to bridge the educational gaps that took place during the COVID pandemic period.
“The educational gaps are to be filled at an earliest. We are conducting bridge courses and are giving remedial classes to the student to overcome those gaps,” Mir said.
