Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday announced a holiday on September 23, 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced a tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh and announced a holiday for September 23, 2022.
In the account of this, all educational institutions and government offices will remain closed for the day. September 23 will be observed as a holiday every year under the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Central Act 26 of 1881).
The official notification issued by the Jammu and Kashmir administration stated: "To commemorate the birth anniversary of "Maharaja Hari Singh Ji", 23 of September of every year shall be observed as holiday in Government offices and educational institutions across the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Central Act 26 of 1881)."
