NHW closed after landslides, may take several hours to clear: says traffic official
The Srinagar Jammu National Highway was closed on Friday morning for vehicular movements after landslides and mudslides blocked the road in several places.
“Landslides and mudslides have triggered the closure of NHW 44. However, restoration work is underway and can take up to six-seven hours,” says a traffic official.
No vehicle movements will be permitted today unless the clearance work is not completed, and commuters are encouraged to contact traffic control units before making any trip, he said.
