Photo featuring Kashmiri Seekh tujji wins top international award
A photo featuring Kashmir’s Seekh tujji (barbeque) seller clicked by Debdatta Chakraborty has won a top international award.
The Indian photographer who clicked the photo of a street vendor covered in smoke from barbeques in Srinagar was named the overall winner of Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022.
The awards founder and director Caroline Kenyon said, “Sparks fly from the skewers, whose roasting we can almost smell. We imagine the warm, delicious aroma. This image, gentle but powerful, nourishes our soul.”
Pertinently, thousands of photographers from all around the world had submitted their entries from more than 60 countries across the world.
