20 applicants shortlisted for VC KU position
Srinagar, Apr 14b : The Search Committee set up to come up with new possible names for the Kashmir University Vice-Chancellor post has shortlisted 20 applicants while the Committee is set to interact with the candidates on April 20 in New Delhi.
As per details, all the shortlisted candidates are known academicians from different institutions such as AMU, MANU Hyderabad, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jammu University, and National Institute of Technology Srinagar
Also, 5 senior professors from the KU are said to be among the shortlisted candidates among more than 130 applicants who applied for the position.
Those shortlisted from KU include Professor Ghulam Mohiuddin Sangmi, Dean Colleges, Professor Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, Dean Academic Affairs, Professor Nilofar Hassan Khan, former Dean Colleges and presently professor Institute of Home Sciences who superannuated on January 31 this year, Professor Sheikh Javaid Ahmad, former VC Cluster University Srinagar and presently professor Department of Physics and Professor Akbar Masood, VC Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, formerly professor of Biochemistry at KU.
Pertinent to mention here that the Committee headed by Dr Pankaj Mittal will interact with the shortlisted candidates for two days starting from April 20 and only after that the committee will submit 3 names to Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha for final selection.
