Schools In Kargil to Reopen from March 1st After Winter Break
Schools in Ladkah's Kargil will be resuming offline classes on March 1 after winter vacation.
After the winter break, schools in the Kargil district of Ladakh will be reopening for physical classes from next month. This is in accordance with an official order that was issued on Saturday. According to the order, this decision to resume all government and private schools was taken after a fresh review of the Covid-19 situation in the district was done.
Orders to resume physical classes in Ladakh
The orders, which were issued by Kargil Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadeve, stated that government and private schools will resume after the winter vacation with effect from March 1 for Classes 6 to 12.
It also mentioned that this decision was taken in consideration of the improved Covid-19 situation in the district.
Further, commenting on the status of reopening for schools up to Class 5, the order stated that they will commence from March 11.
Preparation for school reopening
To ensure that Covid-19 related SOPs are being followed by students both at their home and schools, heads of the institutions and teaching staff have been directed to report 3 days before reopening date to make required arrangements.
The order added further, "No student having symptoms of Covid-19 shall be allowed at the school."

In November last year, schools of the Kargil and Leh districts were suspended for the winter holiday due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.
On Saturday, the Union Territory of Ladakh reported 24 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 27,971, while 42 recoveries reduced the number of active cases to 230 - 215 in Leh and 15 in Kargil.
