Nearly 6% Students between 6-14 Yrs not enrolled in J&K Schools In The Present Year
Srinagar, Dec 27 : In a worrisome development, at least six percent of the students of 6-14 years of age were not enrolled in Schools of Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2021.
According to the news agency, at least six percent of male and female students of 6-14 years were not currently enrolled in schools.
The figures were revealed by the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2021.
According to ASER-2021, out of the total number of such students who were enrolled in the schools include 6.6 percent male and 5.4 percent female students.
Likewise, the figures reveal that in 2020, only 2.4 percent students of 6-14 years of age were not enrolled in Schools of Jammu and Kashmir that includes 1.9 percent male and three percent female students respectively.
ASER had further mentioned that in the academic years 2019, only 1.2 percent students of 6-14 years of age were not enrolled in Schools of Jammu and Kashmir that includes 0.9 percent male and 1.5 percent female students respectively.
Earlier, KNO reported that 55 percent of school students of Jammu and Kashmir who had preferred to carry learning activities through traditional means while only 30 percent opted for online mode in 2021.
ASER-2021 had revealed that a total of 55.1 percent students from both private and government-run-schools carried out their educational activities through the traditional means during the selected survey time.
The report further reads that only 13.1 percent of the students had taken part in academic activities that were given to the students via broadcast medium and 28.9 percent via online means.
