Here is the list of UPSC toppers of 2021 who overcame all odds to crack the prestigious UPSC civil services exam.
Many consider the UPSC Civil Services to be one of the toughest exams in India to clear. But with the right approach and devotion, one can easily crack the exam in one go.
The UPSC Civil Services examination consists of three stages i.e., prelims, mains, and personality test, and is held by select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), an Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
Every year, over 10 lakh candidates apply for the UPSC IAS prelims exam, and out of the total aspirants, around 700 candidates get recruited for the different services and posts.
The year 2021 saw a total of 761 (545 men and 216 women) successfully in the prestigious civil service examination 2020.
Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated all those who have successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services examination.

1. Mamta Yadav became the first woman from her village to become an IAS
Beating all the odds, a 24-year-old girl from Delhi's Basai village got AIR 5 in the UPSC Civil services exam 2020-21 this year.
Mamta Yadav became the first person from her village to become an IAS officer. Mamta Yadav has lived her whole life in Delhi's Basai village.
This was her second attempt at the UPSC Civil Services. She first appeared for this tough exam in 2020 and secured Rank 556.
2. Bihar boy Satyam Gandhi clears UPSC Civil Services in first attempt
The 22-year-old Satyam Gandhi secured 10th rank in the UPSC Civil Services exam this year -- that too on his very first attempt. Satyam, who comes from a rural family in Bihar, had never heard of momos and sandwiches before he got a seat at Delhi University.
As per reports, the 22-year-old studied for UPSC just for a year with no coaching.
Satyam wants to tackle the problems faced in rural areas after becoming an IAS and hopes to get into the Bihar cadre itself.
3. Meet the village cloth seller's son, who secured 45th rank in the UPSC exams:
26-year-old Anil Basak, a resident of Kishanganj, Bihar made his family proud by securing 45th rank in the UPSC exams 2021. Anil Basak is the son of Binod Basak, a village cloth seller.
His father sold clothes from village to village for his livelihood. And Anil wanted to make sure his father never had to struggle like that again.
4. Meet Niranjan Kumar, son of a tobacco shop owner who cleared UPSC
Niranjan Kumar, a resident of Pakribarawan block of Bihar's Nawada district, secured the 535th rank in the UPSC civil services examination.
Niranjan's father used to have a tobacco shop but the Covid-19 pandemic forced him to shut down. Despite the constraints, Niranjan's family made sure he could continue his education.
5. Farmer's daughter clears UPSC Civil Services exam:
Shelly Rathi, who hails from Kharhar village in Bahadurgarh, cleared the UPSC exam on the 5th attempt and secured 308th rank. The farmer's daughter, Shelly, is also a Gold Medalist in BTech.
" I do not care about her rank, I am immensely happy about her success. A parent is always proud of their child.
When I was busy with farming while my children studied hard, it's satisfying. She did self-study and believed in herself," said Shelly's father, Satish Rathi.
6. 22-year-old college gold medallist clears UPSC without coaching
Adarsh Kant Shukla from UP's Barabanki district secured Rank 149 without any coaching classes.
Adarsh cleared the UPSC Civil Services on his first attempt.
Belonging to a simple family, Adarsh's father had moved from the village to Barabanki 20 years ago for better circumstances.
His father said that cracking the civil services had been his dream.
The 22-year-old is also a gold medallist in BSc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from National PG College, Lucknow.
