MeT Predicted Another Dry Spell In J&K
Weatherman on Monday has predicted “mainly dry weather” with a little possibility of brief spell of light rain at isolated places during one week in Jammu and Kashmir.
“ Weather remained dry in whole Kashmir and same weather is likely to continue for next one week,” a Meteorological Department official said. However, he said, a brief spell of rain at isolated places cannot be ruled out “although chances are low”.
“ There’s no forecast of any significant weather in coming days,” he said.
As regards Jammu division, he said there is possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorm at scattered places. “Weather is likely to remain mainly dry.
However, brief spell of light rain at isolated places can’t be ruled out, although chances are low,” he added.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department official told a local neews agency, Global News Service (GNS) that Srinagar recorded a low of 14.8 degrees Celsius against normal of 10.4 degree Celsius for this time of the season.
He said Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded minimum of 12.3 degrees Celsius against 12.3 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam, the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, witnessed a low of 11.5 degrees Celsius.
Kokernag had a low of 11.7 degrees Celsius against normal of 9.6 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Northern Kashmir’s Kupwara town recorded minimum of 13.1 degrees Celsius while Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort in Baramulla district had a low of 9.0 degrees Celsius.
