Nearly 41000 mathematical kits, 8156 resource kits provided to school children to build scientific temperament, upgrade numerical skills among children
Jammu, 05 July, 2021 :
The J&K government has informed the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) Government of India that around 41000 mathematical kits and 8156 resource kits were provided to school children in J&K.
The distribution of kits was done by the department to build the scientific temperament and upgrade numerical skills among the school children.
This was stated by the project directorate Samagra shiksha while delivering his power point presentation during the last Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting chaired by the secretary School Education and Literacy (SEL) GoI for 2021-22 financial year in April this year.
“ An online portal has been developed for monitoring of implementation of Vocational Education in all the approved schools of J&K which were e-inaugurated by J&K Lieutenant Governor,” the project director Samagra informed GoI.
He also stated that the learning outcome documents developed by NCERT, New Delhi were also printed by Samagra Shiksha and distributed to all primary school teachers.
“ Learning outcomes posters are pasted in classrooms of Government schools from class 1st to 8th which serve as a benchmark for the teachers to know the level of learning outcome of the children,” he said.
He further informed that around 8156 Upper Primary Schools (UPS) were provided learning resource kits to build scientific temperament among the children.
“Around 41000 early mathematics kits were also distributed among all primary schools across UT to upgrade numerical skills of the children,” project director Samagra Shiksha informed the meeting.
About the Children with Special Needs (CWSN), he stated that a fresh survey was being done in all the districts of J&K for identification of CWSN in J&K UT.
“ Stipend, escort and reader allowance were disbursed among 2838 CWSN through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) mode,” he said.
About the electrification of government schools, the GoI was informed that the J&K UT has installed 930 5KW Hybrid out of 1418 and 602 1KW offline out of 809 solar power panels in the designated schools of JK UT during the year 2020-21.
The Government of India was also informed that the advancement (NISHTHA) training was conducted in online mode through DIKSHA portal wherein around 80600 elementary teachers of J&K were trained in 18 courses.
“ Under Integrated Multidisciplinary professional advancement course for teachers (IMPACT), 34000 Grade II and III teachers (erstwhile RReTs) were imparted a one month training course in three phases,” the projector director Samagara said.
The five phases of training included five days face to face training in online mode through JKKN, 21 days field work and four days assessment and evaluation done by UTRPS and DIET faculty for certification.
