PUBG launches new India version game
The PUBG Mobile, popular battle royale game is back in a new look. On Thursday, South Korean games developer Krafton, the creator of PUBG, launched PUBG’s new version in India — Battlegrounds Mobile India, reported Times of India.
As per the report, the game will offer a AAA multiplayer gaming experience on mobile. It will come with exclusive in-game events like outfits and features and will have its own esports ecosystem with tournaments and leagues. The game will be launched as a free-to-play experience on mobile devices.
Earlier, PUBG Mobile India’s official YouTube channel released a teaser of the currently banned mobile game in India and deleted it minutes later. The popular gaming application was one of the many apps banned in India in early September last year.
The new game, which marks PUBG’s comeback in India, will have a period of pre-registration before the launch and is available to play only in India. “Krafton will collaborate with partners to build an esports ecosystem while bringing in-game content regularly, starting with a series of India specific in-game events at launch, to be announced later,” reported TOI quoting the company’s statement.
Krafton is also working with partners to ensure data protection and security. “This will ensure privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players here,” it said.
“We believe that at this time, more than ever, your health and safety are a paramount priority. We urge each one of you as super players, to stay safe, stay at home and wear a mask,” Krafton said, as per the report.
