Weather to improve significantly from today: MeT
Srinagar, April 21: The meteorological department (MeT) has forecast significant improvement in prevailing weather conditions from Thursday and would remain mostly dry and clear till April end.
Director MeT Srinagar Centre, Sonam Lotus told Rising Kashmir that there will be a significant improvement in prevailing weather conditions from Thursday morning onward till April end.
As per MeT data Srinagar recorded 10.4°C on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Ski resort Gulmarg recorded a low of 1.3°C . Pahalgam settled at minus 5.4 C.
Qazigund, gateway town of valley recorded a low of 7.4°C. Kokernag recorded a minimum of 5.8°C. While 7.7°C was recorded in Kupwara.
As per traffic advisory, then traffic will ply from Srinagar towards Jammu on the highway.
“After that HMVs will be released from Udampur towards Sringar on the highway," it said.
However, Mughal Road, the alternate road-link which connects the valley to PirPanjal through the Shopian-Rajouri axis is still closed for traffic.
