Restart the online classes to impart education as well as to safeguard the health of the children : Qayoom Wani
With COVID-19 being rise everywhere in Kashmiri keeping schools and tourist gardens open is enough dangerous for rapid spread of the new variants of COVID 19.
In a statement the Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani has alarmed the authorties about the increasing statistics of the second wave of COVId 19 now in Kashmir too amid the ever increasing inflow of tourists into Jammu and Kashmir particularly Kashmir Valley.
“ Reported among staffers and students in numbers amid a general spike in infections lately, the J&K Civil Society Forum demands the closure of schools colleges and tourist gardens as a preventive measure before the cases of infection upsurge to enormity.” Wani said.
" Keeping Tulip garden open and inviting tourists by ‘melas’ is no wisdom at a time when health of the people is at stake. Tourism can wait but health is priority.
How can children resist the temptation of going to Tulip Garden when govt conducts fares to invite tourists and there is ever increase of outside valley tourists. ” the statement reads.
Regarding the schools Wani said allthough govt has asked deputy commissioners to take a call on the continuation of classes at schools in their respective districts but the ground situation was sufficient reason to take the final decision of closing schools in this pandemic and not to put the lives of our ‘future’ on stake.
" When many outside states have already closed the schools in the safety of the children, why should J and K wait for the ugly days to come first and then to announce closure of schools in desperation ” said Wani.
