IPL 2021 Likely to be postponed by BCCI

Indian Premier League is the most-watched T20 cricket league in the world.
Star cricketers from all across the world take part in the league only to entertain the fans. So far, 13 seasons of the IPL came to a close.
Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise with 5 titles to their name.
Chennai Super Kings are the second-most successful team with 3 titles. Kolkata Knight Riders won two titles so far.
Deccan Chargers (now defunct), Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals won a title apiece.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals haven’t won a title so far.
RCB made it to the final on 3 occasions whereas Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals made it to the final only once.
However, remains to be seen which team will come out on top in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Due to increasing coronavirus cases in the country, BCCI has decided to take a significant step.
As per the news from BCCI, the authorities are not interested to stage the tournament this time amid the sudden rise of coronavirus cases. It is cognizance of the fact that Mumbai is one of the venues that is scheduled to host many games.
Meanwhile, Mumbai registered the highest number of coronavirus cases.
BCCI prioritizes safety as the first priority. So, the richest cricket body decided that it is best to not conduct the tournament at this point.
