Covid-19: Routine OPD services closed at GMC Anantnag
Non-emergency patients can get online consultations over phone: MS GMC
Anantnag, Apr 28 (KNO): Amid steep surge in Covid positive cases, the routine OPD services at Government Medical College Anantnag have been closed, hospital authorities said Wednesday.
Medical Superintendent at Government Medical College Anantnag Dr Muhammed Iqbal told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that to avoid unnecessary exposure to the patients, the routine OPD services have been closed. He, however, said that emergency OPD services will continue to function.
He said that GMC being an important hospital of South Kashmir, the OPD services cannot be fully closed and that emergency OPD services for both Covid and non-Covid patients will continue to function.
He said that non-emergency patients can get consultations on phone/WhatsApp as numbers of all doctors along with their specialties will be shared separately.
He added that patients can speak to doctors any day, any time from 10 am to 4 pm and get consultation at their home.
Dr Iqbal said that vaccination process will be intensified further as now all above 18 years of age are eligible for vaccination and if still there are healthcare workers, front line workers who are yet to get vaccine, they must come forward at an earliest to get the jab.
He further added that testing has been also ramped up and patients whether Covid or non Covid will be admitted after producing Covid tests.
He further persons who are coming for tests need not to visit hospital again as their reports will be send on their phone number—(KNO)
