All schools for students upto Class 8th to remain closed till April 4 : Know the state
Uttar Pradesh, March 31 :
All schools in Uttar Pradesh have been ordered shut till April 4 for students of Classes 1 to 8.
The order extends the earlier closure date of March 31 and is applicable to all schools in the state.
Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to close the schools in the state after the recent spike in cases.
UP Schools have been ordered to remain closed till April 4 for students till Class 8.
The earlier order was till March 31, which now stands extended.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting at his residence on Tuesday to ascertain the situation of COVID19 in the state.
Based on the report, the order has now been extended till April 4.
It is noteworthy that the fresh order is for all schools. The earlier order had been for Government Schools in UP.
As for the classes 9 to 12, the government has asked schools to ensure all COVID-19 protocols are followed for conducting the classes.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has asked for the testing to be stepped up.
Special emphasis to be given on testing at old age homes, orphanages, residential schools and other such possible clusters.
The hospitals which were earlier dedicated to COVID have been reactivated.
UP reported 10 fatalities on Tuesday, taking the total death toll to 8800 in the state.
A total of 918 new cases were reported in UP on March 30, taking the total tally to 6,15,996.
