Wet spell likely to begin from Friday: MET
Srinagar, Jan 21: The Meteorological Department in a new forecast has said that a wet spell is likely to begin from Friday night and there would be a moderate spell of snowfall during Saturday and Sunday night, while the valley continued to reel under sub-zero night temperature, they said.
Director MeT Sonum said that the forthcoming wet spell can cause disruption in both air and surface traffic, the MeT has warned.
In the new forecast MeT department said, “Another Western Disturbance of moderate-intensity is most likely to affect J-K and Kargil district of Ladakh during 22 January (night) to 24 (night) with main activity on 23-24 January.”
“This will cause widespread moderate snowfall in hilly areas of Jammu, plains of Kashmir, rain in plains of Jammu and light snowfall at scattered places of Ladakh especially in Kargil district,” Lotus said.
