Weather Advisory: MET Predicts Heavy Snowfall In South Kashmir from January 3
SRINAGAR: According to MeT Department a Strong Western Disturbance will effect J&K from Monday onwards.
Under the influence of the System moderate to heavy (snow/rain) is expected in many parts of J&K with isolated heavy falls over higher reaches(Pir Panjal range,Chenab valley,etc) mainly on 5 Jan, a weather official said.
From 3rd Jan Isol to SCT places of J&K will start recieving light to moderate (snow/rain) which will intensify on 4 Jan evening and will pick up its main intensity on 5th Jan, which will continue till 6th Jan morning, he said.
There are of landslides/mudslides in vunerable places of Jammu division.This system will lead to traffic disruption in many roads of J&K including Srinagar – Jammu National Highway. Parts of Punjab, Lahore,Jammu and other plains of North west india will receive moderate to heavy thundershowers accompanied by lightning.There are chances of some hail storms too, he added.
