The district education authorities in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have barred the private schools from conducting normal regular classes in institutions in violation of government orders.

The circular instructions in this regard were issued by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag after some private schools were found holding classes for students in violation of government orders.

“While conducting inspection of examination centres, it was observed that some private schools were holding normal classes in clear violation of the government orders,” reads the circular, adding that the erring private schools were reprimanded and were directed to desist from such practice.

“No private school will conduct normal classes till further orders are issued from the government regarding formal opening of schools,” the circular reads.

The CEO has instructed that no private school will sell books or uniforms in the school premises.

“The schools should not press parents for purchase from any particular shop or replace existing books with new ones,” it reads.

In reference to the previous orders of the School Fee Fixation Committee (SFFC) issued on November 13, the district education authorities have also barred the management of private schools to restrain from collecting admission or donation fees from students at the time of new admission. “No other fee except tution fee is to be charged from the parents.

The instructions are issued for strict compliance,” the circular reads, adding that any deviation from government orders shall lead to strict action against the defaulters including de-registration of the respective school without any further notice.
