2500 tablets distributed among students: Dr Samoon

“2500 tablets stand distributed among the students of  8th, 10th and 11th classes to help them to obtain the education through electronic mode” stated by the Principal Secretary Education, Dr Asgar Samoon while chairing a meeting, adding that distance education has emerged as an important mode of learning over the years.

This was stated by Dr Samoon while reviewing the functioning of the education department at an officers meeting held here today.
The meeting was convened in view of the prevailing situation emerged due to covid-19 pandemic that has affected the normal schooling and education system in J&K.
 
Speaking on the occasion the Principal Secretary said that the Government is contemplating to create State Centre for Education Research and Training Department on the pattern of NCERT. He said that the focus would be on the face-lifting of school buildings and related infrastructure besides improving the basic facilities like drinking water, washrooms and other allied facilities during the lockdown period. He appreciated the teachers for extending their volunteer services in teaching the students during the lockdown period.

The meeting was informed that the department had already distributed over 50 lakh text books among the students. It was also given out that 30% syllabus was already completed at the time of lockdown. The meeting was also told that education is imparted to students through teleclasses while all available resources are being employed to cover students in remote areas.

The meeting was attended by Director School Education, Kashmir, Mohammad Younus Malik and other officers of the department.
