The overall Security Scenario in the Union Territory of J&K sine of the directions related to regulation of telecom Services on 24th January, has been reviewed. Among other things, the terrorist activities and misuse of interne accessed through Virtual Private Network (VPN) applications, for coordination of.- terror acts, transmission of rumors and targeted messages to spread ideologi inimical to the interest of the State have been taken of as also incidents and apprehensions during the succeeding we 2. Consequent upon the above, I, Principal Secretary to the Go Department, being satisfied that it is absolutejy necessary so to do, in t st of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the Security of the State and for ma taining public order, in exercise of the powersAonferred by sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 and sub-rule (1) of Rule 2 of the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Wety) Rules, 2017, hereby order that the directions/ restrictions contained in GoVernment Order No. 05(TSTS) of 2020 dated 24.01.2020 shall continue to remain operative till 7th of February, 2020, unless L, ed earlier. Further, the whiteli sted sites shall be as per the Annexure, with u • I on a continuing basis. V/
3. The IGP Jammu and Kashmir shall ensure immediate compliance of these directions by all the service providers.
